The 22 bungalow style townhouses at South Hilyard Terrace were completed in August 1999. This project features 2 and 3 bedroom units, a community room with laundry facilities, community gardens, an on-site Resident Services Coordinator, and is adjacent to a public park. Rents are affordable for persons at or below 50 percent of area median income. Some units are reserved for transitional families and developmentally disabled. The South Hilyard site was the City of Eugene's first landbank site, and was held for affordable housing for over 20 years. This housing development is a point of pride for our organization, the City of Eugene, and the neighborhood where it is located. It is often featured on housing tours and has become a prime example of quality affordable housing and neighborhood compatibility.
