Working at SVdP
“I started at St. Vincent de Paul a little over 2 years ago. I was a retail clerk at one of the smallest stores. When Covid-19 hit and our store had to be closed I didn’t know what I would do, but St. Vincent de Paul came up with a job for me to continue to work at a respite shelter they opened. Once the stores reopened I went back to being a cashier. When I wanted to try something new they let me move to donations/sorting. Then I moved up to a supervisor role. From there I was able to meet my ultimate goal to become a case manager. As of August 2021 I am now a case manager for Connections Rapid Rehousing. St. Vincent de Paul has so many different jobs that ultimately you can get to where you want to be.”

“I didn’t have a job when I moved here and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, so I bounced around a couple jobs that weren’t the right fit, since I wanted to do something where I was able to help the community and give back to those in need. I was hired on as a Retail Associate with St. Vincent de Paul in December of 2019, and after a few short months I was promoted to Assistant Manager, then a few months after that I became a Store Manager! St. Vincent de Paul has presented to me a true opportunity to give back, help people, and be a support system to those who need it most!
I’ve never known a company to offer those opportunities until I came to St. Vincent de Paul. This place isn’t just a place of work, we are all like a family here and we care for each other like we would our own family. It’s truly amazing!”
