SVdP’s Veteran Services offers support and assistance to Veterans experiencing homelessness and those at risk of becoming homeless.
Veteran Service Programs
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) connects Veterans experiencing homelessness with the resources they need to become or remain permanently housed. Sponsored by a grant from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), SSVF provides temporary financial assistance and case management services to help Veterans navigate and overcome barriers to housing and to support their housing stability.
Vet LIFT offers emergency shelter and transitional housing opportunities through close collaboration with the Local Veterans Administration. Vet LIFT provides permanent supported housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. Veterans must complete a Front Door Assessment to determine eligibility. Vet LIFT receives housing referrals from Lane County and will reach out to those individuals to begin the housing process.
Veterans’ Housing Project The Veterans Housing Project (VHP) was developed in 2011 as a collaborative effort of private, public and nonprofit organizations to provide safe and affordable housing to help military veterans transition easily back into the community upon returning from deployment. Founders include the City of Eugene, Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB), the Homebuilders Association of Lane County (HBA) and St. Vincent de Paul. In the past decade, VHP has grown into a case-managed transitional housing program that plays an important role in our community.
