St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County (SVdP) received a large quantity of brand new socks from a nonprofit partner, and local nonprofit agencies that serve unhoused populations can benefit from the gift! A load of 79,000 Bombas-brand socks were sent from St. Vincent de Paul of Dayton, OH, to distribute to unhoused community members here in Oregon. SVdP of Lane County has begun to share supplies amongst providers in the Lane County area and is excited to continue to earmark pairs for other nonprofits in our region.
In times of crisis, collaboration is more important than ever. SVdP partnered with the Dayton St. Vinnies to share much-needed supplies with clients here in Lane County. SVdP is allocating loads of socks to other local nonprofits and community organizations including: White Bird, Eugene Mission, Square One Village, and Lane County Homelessness Task Force. Socks went to Eugene and Springfield emergency respite sites sheltering unhoused guests during the pandemic, as well as Dawn to Dawn, a 24/7 emergency shelter for adults experiencing homelessness. SVdP’s Veterans Housing Program is also excited to distribute these socks to unhoused veterans in our community. So far, more than 5,000 have been gifted to community partners and SVdP programs.
