Working at SVdP

I applied for a maintenance position with SVDP with little to no hope that they would even consider my application. I was shocked when Stephanie from the hiring team called me in for an interview—and even more surprised when I got the job.

During my time at SVDP, I started in maintenance, where my skills were recognized and truly appreciated. From there, I moved into Property Management, which opened up an entirely new set of skills I never thought I could learn—or even have the opportunity to try. Not only have I grown professionally, but I also couldn’t ask for better people to work with or for.

SVDP has given so much to me and my family, and I will never be able to say “thank you” enough. You often hear that “teamwork makes the dream work,” but for the first time in my adult life, I work somewhere where that saying is more than just words. Company-wide, I have found friendly, eager-to-help coworkers who are always willing to lend a hand.

The skills and training I’ve received since joining SVDP have exceeded anything I imagined I could achieve, and I owe it all to this incredible organization and its amazing staff.”

Tabatha Johnson, Onsite Property Manager Lamb Building

“I didn’t have a job when I moved here and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, so I bounced around a couple jobs that weren’t the right fit, since I wanted to do something where I was able to help the community and give back to those in need. I was hired on as a Retail Associate with St. Vincent de Paul in December of 2019, and after a few short months I was promoted to Assistant Manager, then a few months after that I became a Store Manager! St. Vincent de Paul has presented to me a true opportunity to give back, help people, and be a support system to those who need it most!

I’ve never known a company to offer those opportunities until I came to St. Vincent de Paul. This place isn’t just a place of work, we are all like a family here and we care for each other like we would our own family. It’s truly amazing!”
