We did our best to show it on June 21 at Alton Baker Park, and about 150 turned out to see how we did. Following a full afternoon of games, live music, prizes and food, no one went away feeling unappreciated.

Families without homes have again been rice blessed, as nearly 200 individuals made their way to Hayworth Estate Wines for an evening of handcrafted paella (see the makers’ page), locally produced wine, lawn games, FUNdraising, and socializing in the shadow of the Coburg Hills. Thanks to all who gave auction items, volunteered, provided food, and attended, and to the Paella Feast Presenting Sponsor, Murphy Company.

Paella Feast on June 22 drew more than 200 people to the picturesque landscape of Hayworth Estate Wines to tip a glass and savor some of the finest paella outside of Spain. The annual Paella Feast benefits St. Vincent de Paul's programs serving families without homes: First Place Family Center, Night Shelter, and the First Place Kids Early Childhood Program. If you love summer in the valley and a good time, watch for Paella Fest 2020.

     Senator Ron Wyden made a visit to St. Vincent de Paul’s Girls Youth House May 29 for a tour and a serious chat with staff and a previously homeless resident, to dialogue about how he can ensure more homeless students in Oregon – 22,000 at last count - can succeed and graduate from high school. SVdP's Girls Youth House is at capacity with 13 young women working toward high school diplomas and beyond.
