St. Vincent de Paul is now Lane County’s only source for recycling expanded polystyrene (commonly known by the brand name Styrofoam).
We shred blocks Styrofoam and compresses it into logs, making it more cost-effective to transport it to recyclers. Styrofoam peanuts are used at Aurora Glass or resold in our thrift stores.
How to Donate
Households in Eugene and Springfield can recycle small quantities of Styrofoam at no charge.
What We Accept: block styrofoam with the #6 recycling symbol or peanuts. These should be packaged separately. NO: food containers/cups, etc.
There is a small fee for businesses; for more information, click here to read more about our Styrofoam recycling program for businesses.
