Special Events

Do we have special events! St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County invites your involvement, whether it’s in the logistics, as sponsors or in-kind donors, participants, or our favorite, the cleanup and associated revelry. Here are the major special events for 2019:

February: Truffle Shuffle, a walk-run benefitting SVdP programs for veterans.

March: Metamorphose, an opportunity for artists of all walks to apply their creativity to reclaimed materials.

June: Paella Feast, a trip to a country estate for an evening of games, wine, paella crafted on-site, and fundraising for First Place Family Center, the Night Shelter Annex, and First Place Kids Early Childhood Program.

July: Volunteer Appreciation, a party in the park to honor our hardworking volunteers.

August: Backpacks for Back to School, gathering new backpacks and school supplies, and donations toward the same, to be given to all families who ask. Event runs all month and culminates in distribution day and many smiles. .

September: Bill Barr Memorial Golf Classic, benefitting tenant households in St. Vincent de Paul affordable housing, with special focus on children’s activities. Read about the 2019 event.

October-November: Holiday Joy, Food Drive, assisting families in SVdP housing that request it, by matching them with sponsoring individuals, groups, faith communities and businesses, wrapping up, so to speak, in mid-December.

November: A Moment In Time, our big gala, raising money to help sustain St. Vincent de Paul programs and services to low-income and homeless members of our community.

Turkey Trot: A proud partnership with FOOD for Lane County, and a Thanksgiving tradition for Willamette Valley walkers, runners and pets.
