Anne M. Williams: Housing Champion

Date: Thursday, March 5 2020

"Home for me is the place where I am safe and secure, and where I have a nurturing neighborhood of friends… where I can walk to the services I need, and where my housing cost-burden is 4% of my income." -- Anne M. Williams

Remembering St. Vinnie's Housing Champion

St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County is a successful affordable-housing organization thanks largely to the expertise and dogged determination of Anne M. Williams who we lost February 24, 2020. For nearly four decades, Anne applied herself to the development of affordable housing and the service-enriched programs that have served thousands of families transitioning from homelessness and/or addiction, and veteran families. Anne was a fierce advocate for the people served by St. Vincent de Paul, and a loyal friend.

The quote above is from an interview with Anne, conducted in 2015 by the National low-Income Housing Coalition. If you read the full text, you will see why Anne was such an asset to St. Vincent de Paul, and an advocate to the end for people in poverty.
