The Vocational Rehabilitation program provides skills assessment, training, job placement, and follow-up for adults with multiple barriers to employment. Participants are placed at various St. Vincent locations such as Retail Thrift Stores, Aurora Glass Factory, Recycling, Administrative Offices, Warehouse or Wood Shop.
Programs in Vocational Rehabilitation include:
- Community Work Experience for Youth (C-WEX) provides paid work experience and training for recent high-school graduates or near graduates. These clients have a documented disability. In 2009, C-WEX helped 24 people.
- Summer Work Experience and Training (SWEAT) is a summer youth job readiness training and is a collaboration among schools’ YTP, Oregon Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, community employers and St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County.
