When Kevin was laid off from his mill job, he went to work for a local temp agency. He landed a janitorial job that lasted three and a half months. After that they told him to call in every Monday. Typically there is no work for him.
Kevin has a strong work ethic. He wants to be able to support his family “the way they should be,” with a house big enough that each child can have his or her own bedroom. “I don’t like to sit at home and do nothing,” he said.
Kevin has never had to ask for help until recently, when St. Vincent de Paul's Social Service Office paid the rent. Without assistance this family would have become homeless.
