On an appropriately frigid Monday afternoon, Ken Zimmerman delivered a truckload of warm weather gear – blankets, hats, gloves, coats, sweaters, socks and more – donated by the standing-room-only crowd that attended the sixth annual Eugene Songwriters’ Concert at Tsunami Books on Dec. 8.

Help Create Housing For Our Homeless Youth

The goal: To get at-risk kids through high school. St. Vincent de Paul is in the process of aquiring and rehabilitating the former Cascade Presbyterian Church building at 3350 Willamette St. in Eugene. It will house 13 homeless teens, ages 16-18, on the condition they stay in school.

CBT Nuggets to donate $2 million for second SVDP Youth House

CBT Nuggets, a Eugene-based online IT education company, on Monday has announced a $2-million donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County (SVDP) for the development of a facility that will provide up to two years of free housing and casework to homeless teen boys with the aim of helping them graduate from high school and preparing them for next stages of adult life. The announcement came Monday at the Eugene-based company’s headquarters at 1550 Valley River Drive.
